Michael Barnes

Michael Barnes is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in both scientific research and public service. Currently a Senior Scientist at FibroGen, Inc. since June 2019, Michael has previously held roles as a Research Scientist at the same company and has significant analytical chemistry experience from Theravance. Michael's background also includes over eight years in local government as Councilman and Mayor for the City of Brisbane, demonstrating a strong commitment to community leadership. Earlier career roles include positions in protein expression and preclinical research at Khepri/Arris/Axys and supervisory responsibilities in manufacturing at Genentech.
