Matthew Piscitelli

Matthew Piscitelli is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in archaeology and cultural heritage services. Currently serving as Lead Principal Investigator and Marketing Manager at SEARCH, Matthew is involved in cutting-edge maritime archaeology projects. Matthew also operates as an Independent Contractor for Digging the Past, LLC, providing research and technical services to prominent organizations like National Geographic and Oculus. Previous roles include Program Officer at National Geographic, where Matthew oversaw multi-million dollar grant activities, and Co-Director for archaeological projects in Peru. With a solid educational background including a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Illinois Chicago, Matthew has also contributed to academia as an adjunct professor at several universities and has extensive experience in organizing and leading archaeological fieldwork and community outreach efforts.
