R. Elliott Oakley

R. Elliott Oakley is an Environmental Social Scientist at the Field Museum since July 2023 and has held academic positions as a Lecturer at the University of California, Santa Cruz and The School for Field Studies, focusing on the political and social dimensions of conservation. R. Elliott Oakley completed a PhD in Social Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh, concentrating on indigenous peoples and environmental conservation in Guyana. Previous roles include guest lecturing on topics related to environmentalism and anthropology, serving as a Visiting Fellow in Chile, and teaching economics and anthropology at various educational institutions.
