David Macdonald

David Macdonald has a range of experience in software production engineering and IT support. David currently works as an L2 Software Production Engineer at FieldAware since April 2022. Prior to this, they worked at eShopWorld from September 2016 to March 2022, where they were directly responsible for technical support, infrastructure management (particularly Azure), and monitoring/managing complex systems and processes. David also worked on improving monitoring tools for systems and escalated technical issues for project development teams. Before that, they worked at Phonovation from January 2013 to January 2014, where they had a role as a Programmer/Tester/IT Support & Operations. David heavily used ASP scripts and SQL queries and was involved in designing code, testing product features, and providing IT support for various services. Additionally, they worked at Western Pest Control Ltd from March 2007 to January 2013 as a Programmer/Tester/IT Support & Operations. In this role, they developed software applications for internal management and provided IT support for clients.

David Macdonald pursued a Bachelor's degree in Digital Design and Development from Technological University Dublin, where they studied from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Technology - BTech degree in Computing in Software Development from the Institute of Technology, Sligo, from 2005 to 2007. Before their time at Sligo, they also earned a Bachelor of Technology - BTech degree in Computer Science from the same institute, studying from 2001 to 2004. Additionally, in 2022, David attended University College Dublin for a brief period, focusing on UX Design.
