Ashley Hampton

Platform, Principal Software Engineer at Fieldwire

Ashley Hampton began their work experience as an Associate Supervisor at ICT Group in March 2006. In this role, they supervised phone-based Customer Service Representatives and handled irate customers and support escalations. Ashley also monitored calls and provided Quality Assurance feedback to the CSRs.

In 2007, they joined VPI.Net as a Software Engineer. There, they developed games, ads, and websites for clients such as AOL, People.com, National Geographic, and R.

In 2009, Ashley became the DevOps Lead and Principal Software Engineer at POPSUGAR. Ashley formed and led a DevOps team to redefine operations and development practices. Ashley managed daily standups and prioritized tasks based on company needs. Ashley also worked with external contractors to ensure projects were completed to meet quality standards. Ashley held this position until April 2017.

From April 2017 to April 2018, Ashley worked at ShopStyle, Inc. as a DevOps Principal Software Engineer. Here, they supported engineers and provided guidance on application performance, architecture, and development practices. Ashley utilized an on-call pager rotation to ensure site reliability. Ashley also architected and maintained AWS infrastructure across multiple environments.

Starting in June 2018, Ashley founded their own Mobile App Startup. As the Founder, they built a cross-platform mobile application for iOS and Android. Ashley wrote native code in Objective-C, Swift, and Java and deployed multiple backend microservices written in Golang. Ashley continued working on their startup until April 2020.

Finally, in August 2020, Ashley joined Fieldwire as a Platform, Principal Software Engineer. Ashley'sresponsibilities included migrating backend resources from Heroku to AWS, building infrastructure using AWS CDK for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and architecting multi-account governance using ControlTower.

Ashley Hampton attended Luzerne County Community College from 2005 to 2006, where they studied Computer Science. Ashley then pursued further education at City College of San Francisco from 2010 to 2012, specializing in Computer Science. No specific degree was mentioned for either educational institution.
