Jason Palacios has a diverse range of work experience. Jason is currently working as a Software Engineer III at Fieldwire, where they are part of the Dataflow team providing back-end engineering support for the Ruby on Rails monolith. Before joining Fieldwire, Jason worked at Charles Schwab for several years. Jason started as a Software Developer I in the Research and Development team, where they explored technology trends and their impact on the financial services industry. Jason presented prototypes to senior executives and gained exposure to a variety of technologies, including NLP, real-time speech transcription, computer vision, data analysis, and IoT. Jason then progressed to the role of Software Developer III, where they were promoted and given technical leadership responsibilities. Jason applied SOLID design principles and TDD methodologies to ensure code maintainability and used modern version control best practices.
Prior to their time at Charles Schwab, Jason worked as a R&D Summer Intern at Charles Schwab, where they developed experimental visualizations of financial equity data and evaluated a behavioral biometrics platform. Jason also worked as a Summer Intern at uShip, where they implemented UI for third-party application access management page and developed reusable React components. In addition, they migrated static email templates and website links.
Jason's work experience also includes being an Undergraduate Researcher at The University of Texas at Austin, where they extended a neural network to support dynamic weight values under the guidance of Dr. Joel Lehman.
