Production Service Manager
Packaging Machines / Assembly Machines / Industrial Machinery
Filamatic is seeking a Production Manager who will lead a team of Assemblers, Panel Builders, and Field Service Technician in the daily tasks to ensure the team is hitting project deadlines and delivering completed filling, packaging, and assembly machinery. Working closely with the project team the Production Services Manager will forecast assembly / testing resources and hours on a given project and then manage the team to meet those expectations.
Through regular communication with various stakeholders, they will shift resources as required to adjust to any changes in various projects. The Production Services Manager will also understand the evolving needs of the business and through mentorship and training, continue to expand the team’s capabilities. In this role they will be involved in all aspects of the manufacturing or our filling, assembly, and packaging machinery from concept through manufacturing, field acceptance testing, installation, and ongoing onsite support.
This position is located onsite at our facility in Baltimore, MD. We are open to offering relocation assistance for candidates outside of the metro Baltimore area.
Responsibilities
Work closely with project team to forecast assembly / testing resources and hours required for a specific project and manage the daily task of the team to deliver results to our clients as projected.
Act as the first point of escalation for any roadblocks or issues that arise and eliminate the obstacles and/or engage required resources necessary to maintain timelines.
Assign daily work assignments to the teams and adjust resources as necessary to meet any shifting priorities.
Ensure all team members understand the various projects underway to allow the reallocation of resources as necessary.
Mentor, develop and train team members to ensure they have the required skills and/or certifications to build and maintain the industrial machinery.
Build and maintain a skilled team who consistently deliver high quality products to our customers while meeting targeted deadlines.
Build strong relationships with Engineering, Project Management, Sales, Materials and Machining teams to expedite escalations and communications quickly to allow other teams allowing adjust their resources and priorities allowing us to hit target deadlines and budgets.
Take lead role interacting with clients both during our onsite field acceptance testing as well as responding to client issues and assigning appropriate resources to support them.
Qualifications
Significant experience assembling, troubleshooting, and debugging complex electro-mechanical industrial machinery or capital equipment.
Experience editing and modifying PLC and Servo code.
Experience utilizing blueprints, engineering drawings and schematics to assemble, troubleshoot, and repair complex packaging, assembling, or filling machinery.
Experience managing, motivating, and developing technical staff through mentorship and training programs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure all involved in projects are aware of any changes in priorities, scope, roadblocks that will impact on our ability to deliver.
Strong project management skills.
Experience in reporting on key production metrics.
Experience working with quality programs such as ISO, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
