Fikret Atalay has worked in a variety of roles since 2005. Starting as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology, they then moved on to become a Geotechnical Engineer at Ardaman & Associates in 2007. In 2011, they became a Lead Geotechnical Engineer at Enercon Services. In 2013, they returned to the Georgia Institute of Technology as a Graduate Research Assistant. In 2018, they became a Co-Founder & Former CEO at Filio Corporation and a Consulting Engineer. In 2019, they took on the role of Postdoctoral Researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology - School of Public Policy.
Fikret Atalay obtained their Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of South Florida in 2005. Fikret then went on to earn their Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2006. Fikret concluded their educational career at Georgia Institute of Technology in 2019, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy in Geotechnical Engineering. Additionally, they hold a Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the State of Georgia.
