Valecia Phillips

Valecia Phillips, MBA, currently serves as the Director of Finance and Operations at Film Independent since September 2021. Prior to this role, Valecia was the Director of Finance and Administration at Equality California, managing an $8 million budget and overseeing financial operations for the state's largest LGBTQ+ civil rights organization. Valecia's extensive career includes positions such as Director of Program Management at the Center for the Art of Performance at UCLA, Director of Business and Finance at UCLA Live, and Associate Director of A&R Administration at Sony Music Entertainment. Valecia's earlier experience includes serving as Director of Finance and Administration at Aaron Davis Hall, Inc. and various roles at the New York City Mayor's Office of Management and Budget. Valecia earned an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and a BA from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
