Salvatore Scamardo

Vice President, Distribution Strategies at FilmRise

Salvatore Scamardo has extensive work experience in the entertainment industry. In 1986, they began their career as the Director of Public Relations and Promotions at CBS/FOX Video. Salvatore later joined PolyGram Video as the Director of Non-Theatrical Programming in 1993. In 1999, Scamardo became the Vice President of Business Development and Programming at USA Home Entertainment/Universal Studios, where they managed product marketing and business development for major league sports and specialty programming.

In 2004, Scamardo joined Chris Blackwell's Palm Pictures as the Head of Video and VOD, where they programmed and launched the first independent film cable VOD channel. Subsequently, Scamardo served as the President of Home Entertainment at City Lights Pictures starting in 2006. From 2009, Scamardo held key positions in marketing, distribution, business development, licensing, and production at Pulsar Pictures LLC, where they worked with well-known entertainment brands and talent.

In 2012, Scamardo transitioned into real estate sales at Sotheby's International Realty Inc. Salvatore then worked at Rumblefish/HFA starting in 2014, focusing on business development in the music industry. Finally, in 2017, Scamardo became the Vice-President of Distribution & Marketing and Vice President of Distribution Strategies at FilmRise, a leading film and television studio and AVOD streaming network based in Brooklyn, NY.

Throughout their career, Scamardo has received recognition for their work, including an Emmy Award in 2010 for producing the public television special "MITZI GAYNOR: RAZZLE DAZZLE!" and multiple international TV and film awards for sports biographies and Olympic highlight films.

Salvatore Scamardo obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Journalism and Advertising from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1985. The start year of their education is not provided.
