Aliya Shibli

Aliya Shibli currently serves as a Reporter for The Banker at the Financial Times, a position held since August 2023. Prior experience includes roles as Assistant to the Head of Country Programme at UN-Habitat Lebanon from November 2022 to March 2023, and as a Research Consultant at the Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime from February 2022 to March 2023. Aliya has also worked as a Parliamentary Assistant at the House of Commons from October 2020 to June 2022, and as a Reporter for Tindle Newspapers Ltd. from August 2018 to October 2020. Aliya holds a Master’s degree in Global Diplomacy from SOAS University of London and a Bachelor’s degree in History and Politics from The Open University.
