Niels Haldrup has extensive work experience in the field of economics and econometrics. Niels is currently working at Aarhus BSS - Aarhus University since 2016, where they have held various roles including Head of Department, Professor, and PhD. Prior to this, they served as Acting Head of Department and Professor at the same institution. Niels has also worked as a Section Head in the Econometrics Section. In addition, they are associated with other organizations such as Tradium, where they are a Board member, and Finans Danmark, where they are a Co-director of the Danish Finance Institute. Niels has also served as a Board member for BSS-fondene. In terms of editorial roles, they have been an Associate Editor for the Journal of Time Series Econometrics and Macroeconomic Dynamics. Niels has been involved with Aarhus University since 1988, initially as an Assistant Professor and later progressing to become a Full Professor. Niels has also held the position of Visiting Professor at the University of California San Diego. Furthermore, they have been an Associate Editor for the Journal of Applied Econometrics and has served as a Professor and Director for the CREATES-Center for Research in Econometric Analysis of Time Series at Danmarks Grundforskningsfond / The Danish National Research Foundation.
Niels Haldrup completed their education in a progressive manner, starting with their high school education at Frederikshavn Gymnasium from 1979 to 1982, where they obtained their Studentereksamen degree. Niels then continued their studies at Aarhus University from 1982 to 1987, completing their Cand.oecon studies. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Economics at the University of Warwick from 1987 to 1988. Finally, they returned to Aarhus University, where they earned their Ph.D. in Economics from 1988 to 1992.
