John Tiani

John Tiani has extensive work experience in facilities, engineering, and validation roles in the pharmaceutical industry. John is currently the Director Facilities, Engineering, and Validation at Finch Therapeutics, where they manage the design, construction, and maintenance of GMP facilities. John ensures compliance with cGxPs and provides oversight for plant and equipment engineering functions.

Prior to this, John worked as the Assoc. Director GMP Facilities at Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. Here, they oversaw the calibration, maintenance, and requalification of assets at a GMP QC laboratory facility. John also managed building maintenance, 3rd party cleaning services, and was responsible for security and pest control.

Before Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc., John served as the Assoc. Director of Engineering / Facilities at Zimmer Biomet. In this role, they were responsible for facilities, engineering, validation, project management, maintenance, safety, and IT troubleshooting. John also provided project management support for cGMP facility-related capital projects.

John also has experience working at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, where they held various roles such as Principal Operational Excellence Engineer, Formulation Manager, Filling and Packaging Supervisor, Sr. Process Engineer, and Sr. Validation Engineer. In these roles, John managed teams, collaborated with global functions, developed process descriptions and equipment specifications, and ensured compliance with regulatory requirements.

John Tiani has a strong education background with a focus on applied statistics, biotechnology and bioprocessing, foundations in business, and chemical engineering.
