Alison Banney

Alison Banney has a strong background in finance and communications with a focus on writing and editorial roles. Alison currently serves as the Money Editorial Manager at Finder since July 2022. Prior to this, they held various positions at the company, including Banking & Investments Editor from February 2019 to July 2022, Senior Writer from September 2017 to February 2019, and Writer from February 2017 to August 2017.

In 2017, Alison also worked as a Freelance Writer for The Cusp from August 2017 to March 2018. Before joining Finder, they gained experience in the public relations field by working at Westpac as a Public Relations Executive from October 2015 to August 2016. Prior to Westpac, they served as a Senior Account Executive at Map and Page from August 2015 to August 2016.

Earlier in their career, Alison worked at The Ideas Suite as a Senior Account Executive from January 2015 to August 2015, and as an Account Executive from August 2013 to December 2014. Alison also served as a Public Relations Intern at One Green Bean from October 2012 to December 2012, and had internships at Hunter Writers Centre, Samaritans Foundation, Enigma Corp PR Agency, and Port Stephens Examiner. Overall, Alison Banney has a diverse range of experience in writing, editorial, and public relations roles.

Alison Banney received their Bachelor of Communications degree from the University of Newcastle in 2012, with a focus on Public Relations and Journalism. In addition to their degree, they obtained several certifications from Kaplan Professional. In February 2019, they completed the ASIC RG146 Tier 1 Generic Knowledge Certification for financial advice. Then in May 2019, they obtained the ASIC RG146 Tier 1 Compliance Solution – Securities and Managed Investments certification. Lastly, in October 2019, they obtained the ASIC RG146 Tier 1 Compliance Solution - Superannuation certification.
