Brian McDermott

Brian McDermott has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Brian began their career as an IT Consultant with Vision Consulting in 1999, where they worked on various Java-based projects for clients such as Aviva General Insurance and ESAT Digifone. In 2002, they played a key role in developing Aviva's IT-based claims handling solution.

In 2003, Brian joined Aviva plc and took on multiple roles, including lead designer and developer for the Aviva Complaints Handling Solution. Brian was responsible for integrating the complaints system with Aviva's policy administration system and workflow solution. Additionally, they worked on the Aviva Direct Insurance Sales Website and played a significant role in upgrading and expanding the customer-facing quotation website.

In 2010, Brian joined Aviva as a Systems Analyst, where they focused on systems analysis and webservice integration in an SOA environment. Brian later transitioned to FINEOS in 2013 as a Senior Software Engineer - Product Development, working on core insurance technology for the Group Disability, Life, Accident, and Health industry.

Throughout their career, Brian has showcased their expertise in development, technical design, analysis, and integration, and has worked with renowned companies in the insurance and consulting sectors.

Brian McDermott obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Dublin City University, completing their studies from 1995 to 1999. Prior to that, from 1990 to 1995, they attended Ard Scoil Ris on Griffith Avenue in Dublin, but no specific degree or field of study information is available for this period. Additionally, in November 2015, McDermott earned the certification of Certified Scaled Agile Framework Practitioner (SP) from Scaled Agile, Inc.
