Colm O'Brien has a diverse range of work experience. Colm started their career as a Projectionist at Cineworld Cinemas Ltd, where they quickly progressed to the position of cinema projectionist. Colm gained expertise in using and maintaining 35mm cinema equipment and later transitioned to digital equipment.
After their role at Cineworld Cinemas Ltd, Colm worked as a Student Intern Networking Engineer at SYNCREON. Colm assisted the Networking Engineers in managing the syncreon network and contributed to the setup of phone systems in Limerick, Ireland, and the establishment of a syncreon network for a new site in Venray, Holland.
Colm then joined Tektronix Communications as a Software Engineer Intern, where they were part of the IPI and QA team. Colm worked on the Iris Performance Intelligence (IPI) project, focusing on enhancing existing systems and adding new features.
Currently, Colm is involved with FINEOS as a Senior Software Test Engineer. Colm is a member of the Scrum Team called Athena, where they develop and maintains automated tests using Selenium WebDriver. Colm also writes manual test cases based on analysis documentation and follows the Agile methodology.

Colm O'Brien completed their education from 2011 to 2016. In 2011, they attended Technological University Dublin where they pursued the Mature Student Access Programme. Subsequently, they enrolled at Dublin City University from 2012 to 2016, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science. In addition to their formal education, Colm obtained certification in Docker from Basic to Advanced from NobleProg in May 2021.
