Mark Watkin

Mark Watkin began their work experience in 1995 at New Ireland Assurance as a Trainee Actuary, where they worked until 1999. Mark then moved to McKeown Software in 1999 and worked as a Software Developer until 2000. From 2000 onwards, Mark joined FINEOS as a Product Architect, where they remain to this day. FINEOS is a leading global provider of insurance technology solutions, serving a diverse customer base of over 50 insurance carriers and government organizations.

Mark Watkin has a diverse education history. Mark obtained a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from University College Dublin in 1994. In 1999, they pursued a Certificate in Finance and Investment from the Institute of Actuaries. Mark then went on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Mathematical Science from University College Dublin in 1995. Mark furthered their education by attaining a Master's degree in Mathematical Science (Partial) from the Open University between 2004 and 2008. In 2012, Mark received certification as a Certified ScrumMaster from Scrum Alliance / Agile Bear, specializing in Software Project Management. Mark acquired additional certifications, including Certified Scrum Product Owner from Scrum Alliance / Agile Bear in 2014 and a Scrum Team Launch certification from Rally in the same year. In 2015 and 2016, they pursued a Data Science Specialization from John Hopkins University through Coursera. Mark also obtained certification as a Certified SAFe Agilist from Scaled Agile Academy in 2016. Additionally, they have completed courses in software design and object-oriented analysis and design using UML. Overall, their education showcases a strong background in engineering, mathematics, finance, and agile methodologies.
