Jan Vapaavuori

Jan Vapaavuori is a distinguished professional currently serving as Co-Founder and Chairman of Newres since December 2021, and as President of the Finnish Olympic Committee since November 2020. Additionally, Jan Vapaavuori holds board positions at Miltton and Omnigym Oy and previously contributed to Omago Oy and Urban Partners. Prior experience includes roles as Mayor of Helsinki, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank, and Minister of Economic Affairs for Finland. Jan Vapaavuori was also a member of the Global Future Council on Cities of Tomorrow at the World Economic Forum. Jan Vapaavuori earned a Master's degree in Law from the University of Helsinki and received an honorary doctorate from Hanken School of Economics in 2019.
