Philip Taylor

Philip Taylor has a diverse work experience spanning various fields. Philip currently holds the position of Chief Fire Officer at Fire and Emergency NZ since August 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Station Officer from August 2020 to August 2021, and as a Senior Firefighter from July 2017 to August 2020 in the same organization.

Before joining the fire service, Philip worked at Westpac New Zealand Limited as a Senior Developer from June 2016 onwards and as an Analyst Programmer from July 2005 to June 2016. In these roles, they were responsible for managing, overseeing, and coordinating the credit card platform, as well as designing and implementing cost-saving solutions.

From March 2005 to the present day, Philip was a Founding Systems Engineer at Tapertech Computer Services, where they focused on hardware and software sales and support. Philip also handled different projects such as horticultural automation, web development, mobile app development, and Windows application development.

In terms of their firefighting career, Philip started as a Recruit Firefighter at the New Zealand Fire Service in June 2010 and later served as a Firefighter from March 2011 to October 2012. Philip then progressed to the role of Qualified Firefighter from June 2012 to June 2017 before becoming a Senior Firefighter from June 2017 to July 2017.

Before embarking on their professional journey, Philip worked as a Freelance Programmer from January 2002 to March 2005.

Philip Taylor attended Unitec | Te Pūkenga from 2002 to 2004, where they pursued a Bachelor of Computing Systems degree. No specific field of study was mentioned.
