Position Summary

Firmo Construction is at a pivotal stage of growth, expanding its footprint and redefining excellence in commercial construction across the Southeast. We are seeking a Project Executive (PX) to join our leadership team and play a vital role in shaping our future. As a PX, you will oversee project success from conception to closeout, providing strategic leadership and ensuring that all initiatives align with Firmo's culture of quality, safety, and collaboration.

Reporting directly to the President, this role offers the opportunity to shape the future of our construction operations and make a significant impact on the company’s trajectory. 

This is not a remote position; it requires presence in either our Atlanta or Sarasota office and frequent travel across the Southeast to oversee projects and teams.

Key Responsibilities 

The Project Executive (PX) will act as the senior leader overseeing multiple construction projects while driving operational excellence and cultivating relationships with clients and stakeholders. This role is instrumental in ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, all while maintaining Firmo’s collaborative culture and emphasis on mentorship.

Strategic Oversight & Leadership

  • Serve as the primary leader for multiple projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and company goals.

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and project outcomes.

  • Provide mentorship to Project Managers, Superintendents, and other team members in the construction team to enhance their skills and career growth.

Project Execution

  • Oversee project life cycles, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and closeout.

  • Lead project teams in the delivery of high-quality work while adhering to timelines and budgets.

  • Manage risk by proactively addressing issues and escalating them when necessary.

  • Oversee compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and industry regulations.

Financial & Resource Management

  • Establish and manage project budgets, ensuring financial accountability and timely reporting.

  • Coordinate internal teams and external vendors for optimal project delivery.

  • Provide accurate staffing forecasts to support both short-term needs and long-term growth.

Collaboration & Client Relations

  • Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry peers to drive project success and build future opportunities.

  • Facilitate open communication between project teams, executives, and stakeholders.

  • Promote shared accountability and prioritize team success.

Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures for construction operations.

  • Participate in the implementation and adoption of construction management software.

  • Track performance using appropriate tools and recommend improvements for future projects.

Competencies

  • Comprehensive understanding of construction processes, project management, and operational workflows.
  • Proven ability to manage complex construction environments, including scheduling, budgeting, compliance, and quality control.
  • Strategic thinker with creative problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Strong relationship builder with excellent communication skills, fostering open dialogue and collaboration.
  • Proficiency in construction industry software (e.g., Procore, MS Project).
  • Focus on team success and shared accountability.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree is advantageous but not required.
  • Certifications: Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar certifications are highly favorable.
  • Experience: 5-10 years in construction project management or operations leadership, with a proven record of delivering successful projects.
  • Expertise in construction methods and project management software tools.
  • Regional project management experience and the ability to travel frequently within the Southeast.
