Nina Silverstein has a diverse and extensive work experience. Nina has worked at First Book since 2017, holding various strategic alliance roles, including Director of Strategic Alliances. Nina also founded their own company, 2B, in 2017. Prior to that, they were a Graduate Assistant at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, where they assisted in the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship. Nina also worked as a Summer Executive Associate at M&T Bank in 2016. In 2015, they were a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Business, Logistics, and Operations at the University of Maryland. Before pursuing their graduate studies, Nina was an Educator at Baltimore City Public Schools and a Corps Member/Educator with Teach For America. Nina also served as a Campus Ambassador for the University of Michigan.
Nina Silverstein has a varied education history. Nina first attended the University of Michigan from 2008 to 2012, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a major in Political Science and Psychology. During their undergraduate years, they also participated in a Study Abroad program at the Florence University of the Arts in 2011.
After completing their undergraduate studies, Nina pursued further education at the Johns Hopkins University School of Education from 2012 to 2014. Nina obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree with a specialization in Education.
In 2015, Nina enrolled at the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business, where they studied for two years and obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree. Their focus during this time was on General Management and Social Entrepreneurship.
In 2019, Nina attended a short course at the Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management. This course, the Allstate Foundation Nonprofit Management Essentials Online Connections Course, provided their with additional knowledge and skills in the field of nonprofit management.
