Josh Kopelman is the Founder and Partner of First Round Capital, an early stage venture capital firm that focuses on seed-stage investments, active since October 2004. In addition to this role, Kopelman serves as Chairman Emeritus and Chairman of the Board for The Philadelphia Inquirer, which is dedicated to supporting sustainable local news. As a Founding Partner at First Close Partners, Kopelman champions venture funds led by underrepresented managers. Co-founding The Kopelman Foundation in November 2001 has enabled support for various not-for-profit organizations. Kopelman's extensive experience includes board positions with organizations such as the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation, GSI Commerce, and Five Below. Kopelman also held the position of President at Half.com, a business unit of eBay, earlier in their career. Education includes a Bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurial Management and Marketing from The Wharton School.
