Coby Pennington Cissp, Ccsp

Coby Pennington, CISSP, CCSP, has extensive experience in the field of information security. Coby is currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at First Guaranty Bank, where they are responsible for overseeing the bank's information security operations. Prior to this role, Coby worked at CastleLock as a member of the CISO Council and as the Chief Information Security Compliance Officer and Senior Partner. In these positions, they provided leadership and strategic direction to the Information Security Compliance and Cybersecurity Engineering services of the company. Coby also held the role of VP - Information Security at MeridianLink, where they developed and implemented a Strategic Enterprise Information Security and IT Risk Management program. Before that, they worked at CRIF Lending Solutions as the VP - Information Security, Director of IT Security, and IT Security Manager. Coby began their career at DM Petroleum Operations as a Senior Cyber Security Engineer and ISSO, where they served as the primary technical point of contact for all cyber security issues. Coby also worked as a Senior Technical Trainer/Consultant at Momentum and as a Technical Trainer/Consultant at ExecuTrain, providing training and consultation on various technology platforms.

Coby Pennington, CISSP, CCSP, obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University from 2018 to 2019. Prior to that, they attended the University of Massachusetts Lowell from 2006 to 2011, where they obtained an AS degree in Information Technology.

Coby has also earned several certifications to enhance their expertise in the field. Coby obtained the CISSP certification from (ISC)² in October 2013. In terms of GIAC certifications, they obtained GCFA in July 2012, GCFE in April 2012, GCIA in January 2012, GCUX in October 2011, GPEN in October 2011, GWAPT in July 2010, GCIH in January 2009, GAWN in March 2007, and GSEC in June 2006. Coby also holds Microsoft certifications including MCSE: Security in June 2005 and MCDBA in August 2001. Additionally, they achieved the Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) certification from (ISC)² in October 2019, and another CCSP certification from (ISC)² in October 2019.
