Cynthia Porter Janes has a diverse work experience. Cynthia Porter started their career at AECOM in 1986 and worked as the Education Practice Leader and Strategic Development until 2017. Cynthia Porter then joined Fishbeck in 2017, initially as the A/E Civic Market Leader and later promoted to Vice President. Cynthia Porter also served as the Vice Chair/Commissioner at the Kent County Board of Public Works starting from 2018. Prior to that, they worked as a Commissioner at the Kent County Road Commission and served on the Board of Trustees at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Cynthia Porter was also a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee at the Grand Valley Metropolitan Council and the Lower Grand River Organization of Watersheds. In addition, they served as a Township Trustee at the Cascade Charter Township and was part of the Board of Directors at the Cascade Community Foundation.
