Facundo Martín García Cárdenas has worked in a variety of roles in the engineering field. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a Technical Assistant at Dimotta Importaciones, where they were responsible for technical inspection and maintenance of medical equipment, as well as gathering, organizing, and distributing technical documentation. Facundo Martín then moved on to Concytec Perú, where they worked as a Research Assistant from 2019 to 2022. During their time there, they were involved in kinematic and dynamic modeling of a serial manipulator, as well as developing and implementing a haptic-based, high-precision controller for minimally invasive telesurgery. Facundo Martín also designed an augmented reality interface using Unity, ROS, and Oculus. Most recently, they worked at Fixposition AG as an Application Engineer and Robotics Engineer from 2022 to present. In their role as an Application Engineer, they led the implementation of a deep panoptic segmentation network to assist 3D mapping, and designed a deep speed estimation network for cars and robots with cm/s accuracy. As a Robotics Engineer, they were responsible for design and implementation of a machine-learning-based speed estimator with centimeter accuracy, as well as sensor fusion and data processing using IMU, GNSS, and camera inputs. Facundo Martín also trained temporal convolution, recurrent network, and residual network using Tensorflow and deployed them on embedded devices with TF-Lite.
Facundo Martín García Cárdenas completed a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Universidad de Ingeniería & Tecnología - UTEC between 2016 and 2021. Facundo Martín also obtained several certifications from IBM, including Big Data Foundations - Level 1, Build Your Own Chatbot - Level 1, Data Science for Business - Level 1, Data Science for Business - Level 2, Hadoop Foundations - Level 1, IBM Blockchain Essentials, and Python for Data Science.
