Laurens van Wijk

Laurens van Wijk has extensive work experience in IT management and consultancy. Laurens started their career as an IS Leader at Multec, where they created software for matching demand and supply of technical specialists and led the ISO 9001 certification. Laurens then joined Brunel as a Controller/Business Analyst, where they were involved in the financial control of the Dutch Brunel companies and participated in the IPO of Brunel on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

After that, Laurens worked at DuPont in various roles, including IT Manager Netherlands, IT Leader Spain and Portugal, IT Leader Sourcing & Logistics EMEA, Regional CIO Crop Protection EMEA, and Regional CIO Industrial Biosciences EMEA. In these roles, they were responsible for delivering IT value to the business and leading teams to improve IT systems reliability and integration of businesses.

Currently, Laurens is the Senior IT Business Manager at Laurens van Wijk Consultancy, where they provide IT management consultancy services for small and medium-sized companies. Laurens'sservices include IT strategy and policy, IT management, security and compliance, IT supplier check, coaching/sparring, and program management.

Additionally, Laurens has also worked at Fizyr as a Chief Information Officer, COO, Business Advisor, and Advisor. In these positions, they served as a sparring partner for management, helped with business development, and oversaw operational aspects of the start-up.

Throughout their career, Laurens has demonstrated expertise in IT management, strategy, and operations, and has been involved in improving IT systems and processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and mitigate risks.

Laurens van Wijk pursued their education with integrity and dedication. From 1985 to 1991, they attended Delft University of Technology, where they earned a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Computer Science. Laurens furthered their academic journey, and from 1996 to 1997, they attended Avans University of Applied Sciences. During this period, they obtained a Postbachelor degree in Business Administration. Thus, Laurens van Wijk's education history reflects their commitment to both technical and management disciplines.
