Jennifer Kania

Jennifer Kania has over 20 years of experience in various roles related to user experience (UX) research, design, and analysis. Most recently, they worked as a Lead UX Researcher at Flashpoint starting in 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Senior User Experience Researcher at Sophos from 2022 to 2023. Before that, they held the position of Lead UX Design Consultant at DMI (Digital Management, LLC) from 2021 to 2022. From 2016 to 2021, Jennifer worked at Tenable Network Security as a Senior Product Design Researcher and Senior User Experience Designer. Jennifer was also employed as a Senior User Experience (UX) Architect at CA Technologies from 2014 to 2015. Additionally, they gained experience as a User Experience (UX) Design Intern at Fuzzy Math in 2014. Prior to that, they worked at JPMorgan Chase as a User Interaction Business Systems Analyst from 2011 to 2014 and as an Applications Development Analyst/Assistant Vice President from 1999 to 2008. Jennifer also has experience as a .Net Developer/QA Analyst at an IT consultancy, Self Employed, as well as a Business Systems Analyst at Parent and Educator Partnership.

Jennifer Kania has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Human-Computer Interaction from DePaul University, which they obtained from 1996 to 2001. Jennifer also holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Human-Computer Interaction from DePaul University, completed from 2013 to 2015. Furthermore, Jennifer has two certifications from DePaul University's Institute for Professional Development: one in Front-End Web Development obtained in 2015 and another in Data Science for Business obtained in 2018. In addition to their academic degrees, Jennifer has obtained additional certifications, including the Certified SAFe® 5 Product Owner/Product Manager from Scaled Agile, Inc. in 2021, the Certified SAFe® 5 Practitioner also from Scaled Agile, Inc. in August 2021, and a UX Certificate from the Nielsen Norman Group (specific dates not provided).
