Michael Swenson started their work experience at Ameritech in 1988, where they served as the AVP & Director of Advertising and External Affairs. In this role, they led corporate advertising, branding, corporate identity, and communications planning. Michael also provided communications counsel to senior executives and achieved marketplace understanding through strategic ad campaigns and marketing communications programs. Michael then transitioned to the role of AVP & Director of Public and Employee Information, where they led media relations, financial and marketing communications, employee communications, and crisis communications. After leaving Ameritech in 1993, Swenson joined Accenture in 1994 as a Senior Executive - Global Internal Communications. Michael built a global internal communications team and led the organization through rebranding, strategic redirection, and an IPO. Michael played a critical role in the renaming and rebranding of the company and led the creation of the Accenture Annual Report. Swenson achieved significant improvements in communications effectiveness and employee engagement by incorporating research findings and fine-tuning strategy and messages. In 2009, they founded SwensonCommunications, a company focused on helping businesses, organizations, and individuals achieve success through clear strategy and effective communications. During their tenure, they worked with the world's largest specialized staffing firm to create a new brand platform, develop communications strategies, and lead the rollout of a new brand positioning and identity. Swenson's most recent work experience is as the Director - Corporate Marketing & Communications at Flatiron Construction. Michael is responsible for leading corporate marketing and communications for the company, overseeing innovative solutions to infrastructure challenges in the U.S. and Canada.
Michael Swenson has a Master of Management with Distinction degree in Management Policy and Industrial Relations from Northwestern University. Michael also obtained a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Furthermore, they attended Shenandoah High School.
