Owen Godfrey

Owen Godfrey has worked in the software engineering field since 1995, beginning their career at ADI Limited (now Thales Australia) as a Senior Software Engineer. In 2004, they moved to Curtin University of Technology, Department of Computing Science as a Tutor and Software Engineer. In 2007, they began working at Austco Communication Systems as a Senior Software Engineer, developing embedded systems. From 2011 to 2015, they worked at Wesbeam Pty Ltd as a Software Engineer, where they implemented a cyclic stock counting support system. Owen then moved to Black Box Control Pty Ltd as a Software Engineer. In 2016, they began self-employed contracting small jobs as a Mobile and Desktop Developer. In 2018, they took a short-term job at Deep Sea Mooring as a Software Engineer to enhance and correct the current risk analysis data visualisation. In 2021, they began working at Unisys as a Senior Software Development Engineer and in 2022 they became the IOS Development Team Lead at Fleetsu (acquired by Rand McNally).

Owen Godfrey has a long history of education. Owen attended Curtin University from 1980-1989, where they obtained a BApSci in Multidisciplinary Studies (Maj:Computer Science Min:Mathematics). Owen then attended TAFE NSW from 1984-1985, where they obtained a Dip in Computer Programming and a Cert in Computer Programming in 1982. In 1993, they obtained an Occupational Health and Safety Representative certificate from the Trades and Labor Council, and in 1992 they obtained a Certificate of Japanese Language from the Consul General of Japan. In 1996, they obtained an End to End Software Testing certificate from IV&V Australia. Owen also obtained a Certificate III in Micro Business Operation from Advance Business Specialists in 2013. In 2015, they obtained a Diploma of Marketing from Careers Australia and a Certificate III in Business Administration from Kirana Colleges. Lastly, they attended South Metropolitan College of TAFE from 2017-2018, where they obtained a Diploma in Event Management.
