Brandon Hornseth

Brandon Hornseth has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Brandon is currently serving as the VP of Engineering at FBS, where they oversee all aspects of software delivery and department operations. Brandon leads a team of 55 software and data engineers, quality assurance analysts, project managers, and API support staff. Brandon also holds the position of a Member of the Board of Directors at FBS.

Previously, Brandon worked at FBS as the Director of Engineering, Product Experience, where they managed a team of 18 engineers and six direct reports. Brandon conducted regular meetings with team members to drive engagement, provide feedback, and understand career goals. During their tenure, they made significant contributions in delivering performance improvements to the mobile web platform, created shared toolsets for distributed request tracing, and played a crucial role in system architecture.

Before their role as a Director, Brandon worked as a Principal Developer at FBS, where they delivered performance improvements to the mobile web platform and created shared toolsets for request tracing. Brandon also served as a Senior Web Developer, focusing on identifying and fixing problem areas to improve stability and performance. In addition, Brandon mentored junior and senior staff and played a key role in integrating instrumentation into core software.

Prior to joining FBS, Brandon worked as an API Developer and Web Developer. Brandon started their career as a Systems Administrator at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
