Ian Bishop

Ian Bishop is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in developing and architecting software solutions across various industries. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Flipboard since May 2020, Ian focuses on creating personalized newsfeeds and push notifications for millions of users through machine learning technologies. Previous roles include Senior Software Engineer positions at Falcon Project, where Ian contributed to a subscription billing system, and Omnyway, Inc., where a retail payment system for Chinese tourists was developed. Ian's earlier experience includes a significant tenure at Serenova, working as both a Software Architect and Staff Software Engineer, leading the technical roadmap and building a cloud contact center platform. Ian has a strong background in Clojure and cloud technologies, along with early engineering roles at startups and established companies. Ian holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of New Brunswick.
