Gladys Palacio de Velarde

Florida ACC Educational Chair at Florida Chapter, American College of Cardiology

Gladys Palacio de Velarde is a highly accomplished medical professional with extensive experience in cardiovascular medicine. Currently serving as the Florida ACC Educational Chair for the Florida Chapter of the American College of Cardiology since August 2021, Gladys has held several prominent positions including Director of the Cardiovascular Fellowship Training Program at UF Health Jacksonville since March 2014, and Professor of Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine since June 2021. Prior to these roles, Gladys was the Director of the Women's Cardiovascular Program at the University of Florida and spent over a decade in various academic positions at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Gladys's early training included fellowships at Mount Sinai Medical Center and Boston University Medical Center, as well as an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center. Educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine degree from New York Medicine Jobs and a BA in Biology and MD from New York University.
