Kurt Stuenkel

Mr. Stuenkel has been a Floyd employee since 1981 and has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since 1996. He has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President, Assistant Executive Director, Director of Professional Services and Projects Officer.

Mr. Stuenkel received his Master of Business Administration and Master of Health Administration degrees from Georgia State University and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Mr. Stuenkel has served as the board chairman of Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals, VHA Georgia and Phoenix Healthcare. He is a past chairman for the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) and a former member of the Georgia Trauma Care Network Commission.

A past chairman of the local United Way of Rome and Floyd County and the American Red Cross northwest Georgia chapter, Mr. Stuenkel has served on​ the board of the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce, graduated from the Leadership Rome and Leadership Georgia programs, and is currently a member of the Rome Rotary Club and First Baptist Church of Rome. Mr. Stuenkel received the Grassroots Champions Award from the American Hospital Association in 2007 and the CEO of the Year award from the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals in 2008.
