Georgios Tyreas

Sensor Systems and Applications Engineer at FLUSSO LIMITED

Georgios Tyreas has a diverse work experience spanning various roles. Georgios is currently employed as a Sensor Systems and Applications Engineer at Flusso Limited since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Peak to Peak Measurement Solutions Ltd. where they held the position of Research Development Project Engineer from October 2019 to December 2022. In this role, they interacted with clients, developed ideas for new products, and utilized Solidworks for concept design. Georgios also served as a Project Associate at the same company from October 2018 to October 2019. Georgios worked as a Postgraduate Researcher at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Sheffield from September 2015 to January 2020. During this time, they conducted research in their field of study. Georgios was also a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Sheffield from September 2016 to May 2017, where they assisted in teaching activities. Additionally, Georgios has experience as a Helicopter Mechanic in the Greek Aviation Army from October 2014 to June 2015 and as a Student Tutor in Maths & Physics from September 2008 to June 2014. Georgios briefly worked as a Research Associate at the University of Sheffield, collaborating with the Acoustics Group, where they designed and installed ultrasonic sensors on a hexy bot for pipeline inspection from October to December 2018.

Georgios Tyreas completed their education with a strong focus on mechanical engineering. From 2008 to 2014, they attended the University of Patras and earned an Engineer's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics. Later, from 2015 to 2020, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at The University of Sheffield, specializing in Mechanical Engineering.
