Bart van Liebergen

Bart van Liebergen serves as an Investment Officer at FMO, the Dutch entrepreneurial development bank, focusing on investments in financial institutions across Africa to enhance access to finance for MSMEs and promote green finance initiatives. Previously, Bart held positions including Senior Strategy Officer at FMO, Senior Strategy Advisor at De Nederlandsche Bank, and Advisor at the Institute of International Finance, where expertise in fintech strategy was developed. Bart's early career included consultancy with UNEP on sustainable finance, a role as Senior Economist with the Dutch Finance Ministry, and coordination responsibilities with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the African Development Bank. Bart holds multiple degrees, including an MSc in Economics and Political Science from the University of Amsterdam, and a Postgraduate degree in International Relations from the College of Europe.
