Head Of National Community Fundraising at Focus Ireland

Lorraine Toner has a diverse work experience in the non-profit sector, with a focus on community fundraising and engagement. Lorraine currently holds the position of Head of National Community Fundraising at Focus Ireland since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Critical as the Head of Community and Donor Engagement from January 2021 to April 2023. Before that, Lorraine served as the Community Fundraising Coordinator for the Irish Cancer Society's Mid West Area, where they successfully coordinated and delivered fundraising activities and supported volunteer networks and fundraising groups within the region from 2015 to 2021. Lorraine also worked as a Community Fundraiser & Development Officer at the Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation from 2013 to 2014, focusing on developing and coordinating fundraising groups and volunteers. Earlier in their career, Lorraine held various roles at the South West Mayo Development Company, including Enterprise and Training Project Officer and Coordinator of the "GET IT" Early School Leavers Programme from 2008 to 2013. Lorraine also gained experience at the Western Care Association as a Systematic Instruction Trainer, Employment Facilitator, Relief Panel Coordinator, and Social Care Assistant/Social Care Worker from 1999 to 2008. Additionally, Lorraine worked as a Social Care Worker at the Vocational Training Centre from 2006 to 2008.

Lorraine Toner completed their Bachelor of Business degree in Marketing from Letterkenny Institute of Technology between 2000 and 2005. In 2017 to 2018, they pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Marketing from the Institute of Technology, Sligo. Additionally, they received a Graduate certification in Marketing from the Marketing Institute of Ireland in 2004 to 2005. Lorraine Toner also obtained the IMI Change Management certification from the Irish Management Institute in 2021.
