Michael Nathanson

Michael Nathanson is the Chief Executive Officer and President of Focus Financial Partners, a position held since February 2024. Previously, Michael served as Chairman and CEO of The Colony Group from June 2004 to June 2024, leading a comprehensive financial advisory firm. Michael's extensive legal background includes roles as Senior Partner at WilmerHale and Hale and Dorr LLP, as well as an early career as an Associate and Junior Partner. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, a Master of Laws in Taxation from Boston University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Spanish Language and Literature from Brandeis University. Michael is recognized for thought leadership within the financial advisory industry.
