Abraham Herrera has a well-rounded work experience in the technology field. Abraham started their career as a Genius at Apple, where they diagnosed and repaired Apple products and provided excellent customer service. Abraham then transitioned into freelancing as a Web Developer, creating and maintaining responsive web pages for small businesses.
Abraham then joined Pivotal Software, Inc. as an IT Support Engineer, where they developed a web app to streamline the checkout process for company laptops, reducing the time required. Abraham also conducted user research to evaluate the app's effectiveness across offices globally. Later, they took on the role of User Life Cycle Project Anchor, conducting user research around employee life cycle processes.

In this role, they were a member of the UAT group for an internal ticketing system and coordinated the migration of over 300 Pivotal apps within one year, resulting in significant cost savings. Abraham also wrote a script to accelerate app migrations.
Most recently, Abraham worked at The Difference Engine as an Apprentice Software Developer. Here, they built an application processing tool for a non-profit organization using JavaScript (Node) and React. Abraham also mentored new apprentices in software development practices and troubleshooted local environments.
Currently, Abraham is working as a Software Engineer at Focused Labs, where they continue to contribute to the field with their technical expertise.
Abraham Herrera began their education at City Colleges of Chicago-Harold Washington College in 2011 and obtained their Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in General Studies in 2015. Following this, they pursued their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Northeastern Illinois University from 2015 to 2017, specializing in Computer Software Engineering.
In addition to their formal education, Abraham Herrera has obtained several certifications. In July 2015, they became an Apple Certified Mac Technician. In October 2016, they earned the Logic Pro X Certified certification from Apple. Abraham further enhanced their skills by becoming a Jamf Certified Tech in November 2018. Recently, in February 2021, they acquired the edX Verified Certificate for Python Basics for Data Science from edX.
