Leigh Carter

Leigh Carter is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in nonprofit leadership and economic development, particularly focused on Haiti. As the Founder and Board Emerita of Fonkoze USA, Leigh has played a crucial role in raising funds and awareness for Fonkoze, serving as the Executive Director since 1996. Previous positions include Program Officer at the Washington Office on Haiti from 1994 to 1995 and various roles at Witness for Peace from 1989 to 1994, culminating as Executive Director. Leigh holds a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor's degree in Business from Samford University.
