Bergetta Beardsley

Bergetta Beardsley has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Bergetta most recently served as the Vice President of Philanthropy at the Food Bank of Iowa since August 2018. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Donor Relations at the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines from April 2017 to August 2018. Bergetta also served as the Director of Development at Mercy Foundation from September 2015 to April 2017, where they built community relationships and engaged volunteers and donors to support Mercy's various healthcare initiatives. Before transitioning to the nonprofit sector, Beardsley worked at the United Way of Central Iowa for almost 7 years, where they held roles such as Director of Investor Relations & Tocqueville Society and Director of Investor Relations & Women's Leadership Connection, focused on engaging philanthropists and building relationships. Prior to that, they gained experience in the insurance industry, working at Nationwide Insurance in various roles from 2002 to 2008. Bergetta began their career at Von Maur as a Buyer of Women's Sportswear and later became a Divisional Merchandise Manager from 1990 to 1998. Bergetta also worked as an Admissions Counselor at Luther College from 1998 to 2002. Overall, Beardsley has a strong background in philanthropy, community engagement, and relationship-building.

Bergetta Beardsley obtained their High School Degree in General Studies from Delavan Public Schools from 1982 to 1986. Later, they attended Luther College from 1986 to 1990 and earned a B.A. degree in Communication, English, and Scandinavian Studies.
