David Meyer

David Meyer is a seasoned leader in animal welfare and sustainable food systems, co-founding and serving as CEO of the Humane America Animal Foundation since August 1999, and Food System Innovations since July 2018. David co-founded Adopt-a-Pet.com and played a significant role in its growth until its transition to Kinship Partners/Mars. As Interim Executive Director of the Plant Based Foods Association, David facilitated critical organizational transitions and strategized on international efforts for plant-based foods. David's extensive volunteer work includes leading rescue efforts during Hurricane Katrina and co-founding Animal Rescue New Orleans. With a strong background in advocacy and education, David has held leadership roles in various organizations focused on animal rights, curriculum development in ethics, and technology innovations in law. David's martial arts expertise includes multiple black belts in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
