Malik, who goes by the nickname “Faki,” was born in Morocco, grew up in Barcelona, and moved to New York City in 2013. He started hanging around Food52 in 2017 as a freelance editor. His favorite parts of working at Food52 are the food, learning new cooking techniques, and discovering new recipes and products. His favorite videos to shoot are ones with hosts teaching tips and tricks. Before joining Food52, he worked as a freelance videographer for clients such as GQ, The New Yorker, and Taste of Home. He’s well known amongst his friends for his gin and tonics and tortilla de patata.
