Markko Karu

Markko Karu has a long history of work experience, beginning in 2009 when they were appointed Head of Council at Tartu Art School. In 2011, they co-founded Qminder and in 2014, they were appointed CEO of Hourdini and Advisor on product and brand development at Skillific. In 2015, they were appointed Head of Council at the Estonian Design Centre and in 2016 they were appointed CDO at Funderbeam and Owner at Lõvi Lõvi Lõvi. In 2019, they were appointed Consultant at Markko Karu and in 2020 they were appointed Design Lead at FoodDocs. Most recently, in 2022, they were appointed Head of Strategy at Scoro.

Markko Karu's education history includes a Master of Arts degree in Design and Development of Virtual Environments from the University of Tartu, earned between 2011 and 2013. Markko also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Design from the Estonian Art Academy, earned between 1993 and 1996. Prior to that, they attended Kopli Kunstikeskkool from 1988 to 1993.
