Shah Rafayat Chowdhury is a consultant at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) since July 2024, focusing on locally led adaptation for climate change in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. As the co-founder and president of Footsteps, a social enterprise in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Shah leads initiatives addressing community development aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Additionally, Shah serves as a Climate Leader for The Climate Reality Project, participating in climate change education and advocacy. In June 2018, Shah represented as a Young Leader at the European Commission's European Development Days, emphasizing the empowerment of women in environmental technologies. Formerly, Shah was the president of the Mohona-Bangladesh Cultural Club at Penn State, promoting Bangladeshi culture on campus, and served as editor-in-chief for the "Born to Smile" magazine, highlighting youth contributions to the Millennium Development Goals. Shah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Economics and Policy with a focus on Geographic Information System from Penn State University.
