Sam Patterson has extensive work experience in marketing and communications roles. Their most recent role is as the Marketing Director at FOOTY.COM since February 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the Marketing and Communications Manager at Sage Gateshead from October 2017 to February 2021. They also held positions at END. as a Community Manager from April 2015 to October 2017, and as a Social Media Planner from August 2013 to April 2015.
Before that, Sam worked as a Communications Officer at St. Oswald's Hospice from April 2010 to July 2013. They gained experience as a Communications Assistant at Arts Council England from April 2009 to April 2010 and as a Marketing Assistant at Sunderland Empire from September 2008 to April 2009.
Sam Patterson earned a BA Honours in English Literature from Newcastle University, where they studied from 2003 to 2006. Sam then pursued an MA in Journalism at the University of Sunderland from 2006 to 2008, focusing on the field of Journalism. In addition to their degrees, they obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2018, they obtained a CMI Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management from the Chartered Management Institute. In 2016, they acquired a certification in Social Media Advertising from Econsultancy. Most recently, in 2020, they completed the "Charity Trustees: your duties to safeguard and protect" certification through NSPCC, as well as the "Google Analytics for Beginners" certification provided by Google.
