Freddie Hunter is an accomplished professional in the field of remote sensing and data science, currently serving as the Head of Remote Sensing at Forest Research and the Managing Director of Cloud-Free Metrics. Since May 2022, Cloud-Free Metrics has provided data science services in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Earth Observation (EO), with contracts across the UK and internationally in Kenya and Tanzania. Freddie's expertise includes developing remote sensing tools for monitoring land degradation and conservation in East Africa with DASCOT, and leading significant projects at Forest Research, contributing to official government statistics and advancements in forest health metrics. Previous roles include working as a Remote Sensing Specialist at Global Surface Intelligence and a GIS Analyst for Trubshaw Cumberlege. Freddie holds a Master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems from The University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor’s degree in Ecology from the University of Stirling.
