Goutami Banerjee has worked in a variety of roles in the biotechnology field. From 2015 to present, they have been employed at Fornia BioSolutions, Inc., where they have held the roles of Vice President of Business Development, Director of Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, and Principal Scientist/Associate Director of Microbiology, Molecular Biology & Biochemistry. Prior to that, from 2011 to 2015, they worked at Codexis as a Scientist & Project Lead. From 2008 to 2011, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center at Michigan State University, where they isolated secretomes from fungal cultures for biochemical and proteomic analysis and used High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) to fractionate secretomes and purify individual proteins for biochemical analysis. Before that, from 2003 to 2008, they earned their Ph.D. from Clark University, where they identified and characterized genes involved in pathways regulating abnormal growth forms in the filamentous fungus Schizophyllum commune.
