WHAT YOU WILL DO

Under the direction of the Manager - Alberta, the Forest Technician is responsible for forest inventory plots, forest development activities including reconnaissance road centerline and cutblock boundaries, ecological and riparian assessments, and completing all deliverables in a safe, timely, cost effective and professional manner.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES 

  • A safety conscious attitude;
  • Post-secondary education with a diploma or degree in a relevant discipline;
  • General understanding and experience with forest operations and forestry practices in Alberta,
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record;
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about forestry and working outdoors in all weather conditions;
  • Able to work both independently under limited direct supervision as well as in a dynamic team environment;
  • Effective problem solving with decision making skills; and,
  • Registered or eligible to be registered with the Alberta Association of Forest Management Professionals, is preferred.
