Chris Cobler

Chris Cobler serves as the CEO and Publisher of Fort Worth Report since February 2021, following an impactful career in journalism. Previously, Chris held the position of Outreach Manager for the National Freedom of Information Coalition, where responsibilities included assessing coalition needs and issuing recommendations. As a "Capital Highlights" columnist for the Texas Press Association, Chris provided weekly news summaries to over 100 member newspapers. Prior experience also includes a decade as Editor and Publisher of the Victoria Advocate, where significant digital strategies were developed, and a role as Interactive Division Publisher at Swift Communications, Inc. Chris’s credentials also include being a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University and various editorial positions at Greeley Tribune, Denton Record-Chronicle, The Coloradoan, and Argus Leader. Educational background features a journalism bachelor's degree from The University of Kansas and a fellowship at Harvard.
