Ben Maraney has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and architecture. Ben has worked at various companies, starting in 2009. From 2009 to 2013, they worked as a Consultant at Mikadot, where they oversaw software development, analyzed data, and provided management consultancy for a New York art gallery. In 2010, they transitioned into a Software Engineer role at Mikadot, where they designed and developed lead generation platforms and an online photo sorting service.
In 2013, Ben joined Klarna AB as a Software Engineer and fulfilled various roles, including tech lead, scrum master, and software engineer. Ben played a key role in building highly-available backends and a consumer-facing portal as part of Klarna's transition to a microservices platform. Ben also led the introduction of Apache Kafka to the Tel Aviv site and negotiated APIs and architecture.
In 2017, Ben moved on to BigPanda, where they initially worked as a Senior Backend Software Engineer and later became a Backend Architect. At BigPanda, they contributed to backend development and architecture, utilizing their expertise in building scalable systems.
Most recently, in 2020, Ben joined Forter as a Principal Engineer, where they are currently working.
Ben Maraney attended the University of Cambridge from 2004 to 2007, where they obtained a degree of MA (Cantab) in Natural Sciences with a focus on Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies.
